The Beings

Also known as Beings Of Beldon (BOBs) and TBs

Background

An alien species of unknown origins that arrived in the Beldon system in Quadrant 3 in 3219. A total of twelve vast alien refugee ships arrived in the system bringing a total of 44 million refugees to the planet during the period 3219-3224.
These refugee ships were equipped to establish a new colony and The Being Colony on the South Continent has grown into a thriving alien civilisation, albeit on a small scale.

Culture

The Beings seem to work in loose social grouping based on common interest, breed clans and some sort of vague quasi religious notions. Each group is in the region of 100,000 – 500,000 individuals.

The groups communicate and 'vote' on key decisions. This can take a while – consensus seems highly important to them.

International Relations

Whilst the human colonists on Beldon joined the Venerian Republic in 3222, The Beings negotiated a separate agreement to remain independent of human polities. The Beldon system is therefore is in the unusual position of having two polities represented on the colony world.

Technology

TB technology is at least as advanced as that of humanity, and the colony on Beldon has quickly become a modern industrialised society, both on the planet and in orbit. The twelve gigantic refugee ships in high orbit can be seen very clearly from the surface and from the system orbital and have become something or a tourist attraction in the Quadrant.
Militaryilt the TB are less well developed as humanity, their weapons and military methods are estimated to be several hundred years behind humanity and the TB show little interest in increasing their technological military capabilities.
