Exercise Minuteman

The crew and marines have been in some rather tough scrapes over the last 18 months or so, and I am very pleased with the way they have all performed.

However, the quality and professionalism of the service requires that when not fighting, we are training.

I would be grateful for, at your earliest convenience, a boarding action excercise plan, based on the following assumptions:

1. The ship has been crippled after a prolonged ship to ship engagement.

2. The defending crew and marines are down to approximately one-third strength.

3. The exercise will be conducted on the Aggie itself, using standard simfire equipment.

4. The exercise will involve off-duty naval crew only (the ship will not be stood down for the exercise) - inputs from Naval command staff are welcomed.

[GM Note: And will be played out as a real game, using either the streamline or 'operational' sets of rules, depending on the way the exercise is set up.]

Message ends.

Thank You For Your Cooperation

In order to ensure an accurate test of the Regiment's capabilities under the proposed training scenario I propose the following:

a. The Regiment be allocated normal Battle Stations, by Squads

b. Each Squad is randomly tested with a two/thirds probability of being stood down from the training test, and the results recorded secretly.

(Squad Leaders and Regimental Headquarters personnel to be tested individually).

d. All the Squads should then be deployed to their designated Battle Stations.

e. The Squad to "survive" are announced over the Ship's Comms systems.

f. The remaining Squads deploy inactive suits to represent casualties in their assigned Battle Stations, and stand down from the training test.

g. The Training test starts.

Subject Minuteman

Sir,

I submit a plan of action based on Capt Rackhams recent instructions.

(Comment on Minuteman. I believe it would be very useful if we could run this exercise three times at least using at least two alternate plans.)

Plan of Action

1. Under the direction of the most senior marine place the remants of 130EMR into a group structure as rapidly as possible. This is to include robots of all types. Make it very clear as who to is in charge of each squad. Make it clear as to who in the event of casulties will take over each squad and the group.

2. Outline very briefly and clearly the aim of the mission to 130EMR.

"Prevent the enemy any enemy boarding party from capturing the "Aggie". Outline to 2inC that it would be good also if possible like to be in a position that the "Aggie" has sufficent naval crew remaining to effect repairs and run the ship on an emergency basis.

3. Make contact with the seniormost naval crew.

Report condition of 130EMR. Ask what kind of enemy are we facing? human, Beserker, Alien, BUMA or unknown?

Ask how many enemy are we facing.

Ask If they are coming in Shuttles or otherwise.

Ask if any additional orders or instructions if contemplated.

Ask if any Naval crew will be put under local Marine command.

Ask if we functioning internal sensors and doors.

4. Deployments and tactics.  (Note this is very different from the Late Major Rutherfords defensive plan.)

Deploy very conservatively using last ditch defence.

Deploy all squads on decks 2

Deploy in and around Power control 1 squad and RHQ

Deploy in and around Main control 2 sqauds

Place APGWs in between Main and Power control in Engineering quarters.

Deploy Space foam in all EALs emergency Air Locks.

Deploy Wirepods Outside of EAL on deck two

Deploy any remaining wire pods place around main and power control

Be prepared to deploy Supercharges in postions, outside of EAL deck two, shaft around marine assembly deck marine, and shaft next to Marine robot stores
