COMMANDER'S DIRECTIVE - TAK/130/1/3197
- PROMOTIONS
In accordance with EMC Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) I confirm
that my policy for authorising Promotions, within operational manpower
ceilings, is as follows:
a. Private to Lance-Corporal: Officers.
b. Lance-Corporal to Corporal: Group Officers.
c. Corporal to Sergeant: Commander (in consultation with
Group Officers).
d. Officer Promotions: Commander (in consultation with
ESM Officer Selection Board).
COMMANDER'S DIRECTIVE TAK/130/2/3197
- AWARDS
In accordance with ESM Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) I direct
that the following policy for authorising Minor Awards shall be immediately
introduced into The 130th Regiment's Procedures:
a. Good Conduct Stripes, Non-Operational (White) (90 day)
- Group Officers.
b. Good Contact Stripes, Operational (Red) (any contact battle)
- Marine Group Officers.
Criteria: The Award of Good conduct stripes shall be for Conduct Above
and Beyond that expected for that person's Rank and Experience. It may
be for an incident of particular merit, or for sustained meritorious conduct
over a period of 90 days when in a Non-Operational environment. It follows
that Privates would be expected to earn Good Conduct Stripes regularly,
but Good Conduct Stripes for Sergeants would be extremely rare. Officers
are not eligible for Good Conduct Stripes, as their conduct is always
expected to be in the Highest Traditions of the Service.
c. Special Recommendation Stripes (Blue) - Commander.
Criteria: The Award of a Commander's Recommendation Stripe will be the
prerogative of the Commander. It may be awarded to any rank for any particularly
meritorious conduct, short of that meriting a formal ESM Award. Recommendations
for such an award may be made, in confidence, by any Member of The 130th
Regiment, in writing, for consideration by the Commander.
COMMANDER'S DIRECTIVE TAK/130/3/3197

b. Demerits - Officers (Captain and above).
c. Demotion - Group Officers
d. Detention - Group Officers.
e. Greater Punishment - Commander.
