Significant early investment from PrimaTech Corporation laid the foundation for the planet’s strong technology and services sector. As a Rich Colony, Y24 now supports a thriving export economy and houses several regional offices of major Esteeler firms.

Local Government: Purple Expansion Syndicate

The official colonial government of Y24 is known as the Purple Expansion Syndicate, a democratic-leaning technobureaucratic administration originally founded with capital and expertise from PrimaTech Corporation. The Syndicate is structured as a hybrid between a civil service-led executive and an elected Popular Assembly, with most policy driven by sectoral planning boards overseen by senior administrators.

• Chair of the Syndicate: *Dr. Selvi Nandakumar*. A seasoned economic planner and policy technocrat, Dr. Nandakumar is widely respected for her pragmatic leadership and strong relationships with GFA federal authorities. She has been central to managing Y24’s transition to Rich Colony status.

The representative of the Greater Federation of Asteel on Y24 is Governor Rasmus Qing. Appointed from Q7 Central Office, Governor Qing ensures alignment between planetary governance and federal strategic priorities. While his role is largely supervisory, Qing maintains strong influence through control of federal funding channels and political liaison networks.

Local Defence Forces

Y24 maintains a dual-tiered local defence structure under the oversight of the Purple Expansion Syndicate, coordinated in consultation with the PGFA federal authorities. While the planet is not heavily militarised, its strategic economic value and increasing regional importance have driven investment in modest but capable defence assets.

StarGuard

The StarGuard is Y24’s orbital security force, operating two heavily upgraded Armed Merchant AMI ships adapted for defensive operations. Though limited in number, these vessels are equipped with modern point-defence systems, electronic countermeasures, and modest cargo interdiction capabilities. Their primary mission is to secure orbital trade routes, deter piracy, and enforce port entry protocols.

The StarGuard maintains its operational headquarters aboard the SV *Prima’s Shield*, docked in Y24's high orbit.

Planetary Militia

The Y24 Planetary Militia comprises approximately 10,000 personnel, primarily part-time soldiers drawn from local communities and administered under a militia-national guard hybrid model. While lightly equipped by interstellar standards, the force is highly familiar with local terrain and infrastructure and serves as the primary response unit for emergencies, civil disturbances, and planetary defence.

A former logistics officer turned civilian-military coordinator, Zhele has reshaped the militia into a flexible, regionally integrated force with strong community roots. He is particularly focused on disaster preparedness, counterinsurgency training, and joint operations with civil authorities.

Militia units train monthly and conduct annual full-scale readiness drills, often in partnership with visiting GFA Ground Force detachments.
