Senior Citizens

The Senior Citizens are a large "apolitical" body of elder statesmen within the Solar Republic who form an advisory body to the political leadership of the Earth Empire. They are all over 100 years of age and are largey self selecting. The Twelve family dynasties have sigificant influence within this body. The vast majority of the most active Senior Citizens live and work in Quadrant 0 where they can have the greatest influence on decision making.

The influence of the Senior Citizens is often the most prominent during the selection of the First Citizen and when the First Citizen and First Minister are at odds over key areas of policy making.
