Ozkok

One of The Twelve Families of the Solar Republic.

The Ozkoks are one of the four Tier One families in the Solar Republic. Although only two First Citizens have come from this family (the last almost 200 years ago) they both hold legendary status amongst many supporters.

Hilda Ozkok’s selection as First Citizen in 3010 came on the heels of her acts of enormous bravery during the "Burning of the Americas" disaster (when she lost all of her immediate family). Kenneth Ozkok was First Citizen in 3045 and was credited with mobilising the interpolity coalition task force against the AI found in the Cinder Seat Incident in Quadrant 1. The fact that the AI was destroyed prior to the arrival of the combined fleet was never allowed to detract from his diplomatic coup.

The Ozkoks have retained considerable political power in recent years (led by their senior Senator, Suleiman) while keeping the Van Cleef family in Tier Two. The Ozkoks are known for regularly highlighting real or imagined Van Cleef links to the Republic of New Venus (RNV). The Ozkoks are known for their long standing anti Venerian agenda.

The Ozkoks have considerable influence in the Admiralty and the Senate. They are strong supporters of naval modernisation of regular powerful deployments to the Colonial worlds to challenge other polities (especially the RNV).
