Kvashnin

One of The Twelve Families of the Solar Republic.

The Kvashnins are an old and well respected Tier Two family in the Solar Republic. Only one First Citizen has been a Kvashnin (Claudia, in the 2960s) and, famously, nothing of interest is recorded as having happened during this time.

The Kvashnin family powerbase lies in its vast corporate holdings and its representation in the Senate and in Colonial government. The Kvashnins have strong economic and political ties to the Del Monte family and tend to support them in Senate votes. Despite this they have retained considerable political power and have long had close ties to the Del Montes.

The Kvashnins are currently led by the CEO of Weygand Colonial Developments and have no particular interest in political leadership, preferring their status as one of the key powerbrokers amongst the Twelve. The Kvashnins are proponents of higher levels of investment and a smaller military budget (retaining a strong reserve fleet for emergency mobilisation).
