Kagemusha Legion

The *Kagemusha Legion* is a clandestine special operations unit under contract to the Centauri Conglomerate, known for its elite performance in high-risk missions across Quadrant 7. Formed from the remnants of several disbanded planetary black ops teams and private military contractors, the Legion operates as a deniable asset, enabling the Conglomerate to act with impunity while avoiding direct political fallout.

The unit is renowned for its expertise in infiltration, assassination, sabotage, and hostage rescue, often undertaking missions that regular Conglomerate forces are either unwilling or unable to perform. Its operatives are rumoured to undergo intense neural conditioning and physical augmentation, making them both mentally resilient and lethally efficient. Legion teams typically operate in cells of four to eight, using stealth technology, adaptive camouflage, and off-grid insertion methods.

The name “Kagemusha” – derived from an Old Earth term for a political decoy or shadow warrior – reflects their role as both phantom agents and psychological weapons. The exclamation mark prefix is a Centauri internal designation for non-attributable units.

Though officially unacknowledged, Kagemusha Legion is widely believed to have participated in black operations on Makey, W1, and New Mald, where its activities have further stoked fears of escalating corporate militarisation.
