!!Overview  
The Joint is an independent colony world in [Quadrant 7], renowned for its extensive mineral wealth and the influence of The Joint Mineral Cooperative (TJMC), a powerful economic consortium coordinating resource extraction across the planet. Despite numerous attempts by external powers to gain control, The Joint has fiercely maintained its autonomy. The planet is divided into four distinct colonial groupings, each with its own leadership and governance structure.

**Teal Prospect of the East**

- Leader: Director Liana Deveraux  
- Head of Security: Commander Rupert Lee
- Description: As the most commercially integrated colony, Teal Prospect operates under the firm leadership of Director Liana Deveraux, a veteran corporate executive with extensive ties to off-world investors. Under her direction, Teal Prospect has expanded its mining operations aggressively, often at odds with the other factions over territory and resource rights.

**Renewed Development Community**

- Leader: Governor Elias Kuroda  
- Description: The Renewed Development Community is the most politically progressive colony, governed by Governor Elias Kuroda, an experienced diplomat who has successfully navigated the political disputes between the factions. Kuroda advocates for sustainable development and inter-colonial cooperation, though he faces constant pressure from both corporate and technocratic interests.

**Gold Prospect Confederation** 
- Government: Charitable Trust  
- Initial Investment: Skodatech  
- Leader: Trustee Mariana Okoro  
- Description: Led by Trustee Mariana Okoro, a former humanitarian administrator, the Gold Prospect Confederation is unique in its redistribution model, where mining profits fund social programs and infrastructure. However, Okoro has struggled to keep the Confederation financially solvent, as pressure from corporate competitors and increasing production costs threaten its future.

**Holy Ground Syndicate**  
- Government: Technocracy  
- Initial Investment: Transtellar Shipping Lines  
- Leader: Chief Engineer Tomas Meinhardt  
- Description: The Holy Ground Syndicate is ruled by a council of engineers and researchers, with Chief Engineer Tomas Meinhardt acting as its de facto leader. A staunch believer in technological progress, Meinhardt has pioneered efficiency-focused mining techniques that reduce ecological damage, earning him both admiration and resentment from rival factions.

!!The Joint Mineral Cooperative (TJMC)  
The Joint Mineral Cooperative (TJMC) serves as the central economic authority on the planet, coordinating mining rights and trade agreements between the four colonial factions. Though officially neutral, TJMC is often accused of favouring Teal Prospect and the Holy Ground Syndicate in contract negotiations, leading to tensions with the other groups.

!!Religious Landscape and Key Figures  
The Joint has a diverse and occasionally conflicting religious landscape, with three major belief systems:

**Way of Enlightened Humanity** – A dominant philosophical movement advocating for technological ascension and societal perfection. The most influential Enlightened Humanity leader is High Mentor Callum Vey, who frequently mediates between the factions.

**Atheism** – The majority of Teal Prospect and Holy Ground Syndicate settlers identify as secular, rejecting religious influences in governance.

**Hinduism** – Practiced primarily in the Gold Prospect Confederation, where Guru Neelam Choudhury has been a vocal advocate for environmental preservation and ethical mining practices.

!!Historical and Political Context

**[Nebok]’s Protectorate Attempt**  
In 3215, the authoritarian Angmar regime of [Nebok] attempted to annex The Joint as a protectorate, citing economic mismanagement and instability. The invasion sparked widespread resistance, uniting the colonial factions against a common enemy. After two years of diplomatic manoeuvring and sporadic skirmishes, The Joint repelled [Nebok]’s forces, reaffirming its independence in 3217.

!!Current Challenges and Conflicts  
Despite its continued sovereignty, The Joint faces a number of pressing issues:  
**Political Tensions:** The growing rift between corporate-dominated Teal Prospect and democratic-leaning Renewed Development threatens to destabilize planetary governance.

**Economic Disputes:** TJMC's resource allocation policies are a frequent source of contention, with allegations that Trustee Okoro and Chief Engineer Meinhardt receive favourable treatment. 
 
**External Influence:** Several off-world powers, particularly mining conglomerates and independent trading cartels, have sought to exploit The Joint’s rich resources, raising concerns about external manipulation.
