!Terraforming The process of turning an uninhabitable world into one suitable for comfortable habitation by humans and their plants and animals. The most successful terraforming project was Old Mars, Sol System. Other projects, especially on Venus, Sol System were expensive failures. The discovery of the hyperspace drive and numerous habitable and uninhabited planets weakened the economic argument for terraforming, and the process has not been used for centuries.
