Smaller version of the popular Class 5000 this is popular with the smaller independent interstellar merchant shipping lines. The Class 4000 is the second largest class of interstellar ship. The structure is a sphere 60m in diameter, composed of a large cargo grid that mounts cargo containers and a couple of small robot tugs for loading/unloading. The crew space in this version is based on the Class 4001 - where the crew decks are located at the front of the vessel above the cargo grid.
