Imperial Marine Corps Creed

The origins of this creed are lost in the mists of time - it is thought to be based on some traditional ancient earth saying used by some of the earliest warrior clans of the 2600s.

This is my SCA.
There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My SCA is a good friend.
But it is not my life.
I have mastered it as I master my life.
My SCA, without me, is useless.
Without my SCA, I remain dangerous.
I fire my SCA true.
I shoot straighter than my enemy,
who is trying to kill me.
I will shoot them before they shoot me.
Oh yes I will.

My SCA and myself know that what counts in war,
is not the bursts of plasma,
in the vacuum of space,
nor the light we make.
We know it is the hits that count.
And We will hit.

My SCA is not human, as I am
But is it like a brother.
I have learned its weaknesses,
And its strengths,
Its parts,
its accessories,
its targetting and its powerpack.
I will ever guard it against
the ravages of vacuum and damage.
I will keep my SCA clean and ready,
even as I am clean and ready.
In battle We are part of each other.
We are.

Before The Ideal I swear this creed.
My SCA and myself are the defenders of my nation.
We are the masters of our enemy.
And the Enemy Will fall When hit.
So be it, until there is no enemy,
but Peace.
