8/307 First high speed recce pass (HSRP) by ASS Speedy commenced.
8/317 1st HSRP completed. Images of base area transmitted.
8/319 1st suitable asteroid detected. Class 5000 Mass driver ship despatched on 0.5g 'quiet running' to intercept.
8/320 2nd suitable asteroid detected. Driver Ship despatched etc.
8/320 2nd HSRP started - ESS Calliope this time.
8/325 Work started on first asteroid.
8/328 Work starts on second asteroid.
8/330 HSRP2 completed.
8/330 Fleet detects two (2) Viking-sized burns on a course for asteroid 2. ETA 8/340
8/331 5AF reacts to incoming Vikings. One destroyed, one burns back into system.
8/331 HSRP3 started (ESS Agamemnon)
8/338 Third suitable asteroid detected. Ships despatched, eta 8/351
8/339 Asteroid 2 mass driver thrusters fixed and ready to go - started positioning movements.
8/341 HSRP3 completed. Passive detection in the Grand Fleet reported additional seven (7) Viking sized burns manoeuvring in-system within 2 AU of Granyt 4 during the past 3 days. At least two of these were from previously unknown locations (i.e. they were hiding near asteroids etc). HSRP3 reports high surface-orbit activity.
8/342 HSRP4 started (ASS Speedy)
8/347 Asteroid 1 ready and commences movement. Both asteroids 1 and 2 are positioned for trajectory to hit Granyt4. Work not yet started on Asteroid 3. 5AF positions to cover asteroid movement.
8/348 Nine (9) viking-sized burns detected heading 'north' out of the POTE at 1g. Fleet Command decides not to intercept. Grand Fleet (-) manoeuvres to cover rear of asteroids from attack from behind (from direction of M25)
8/351 Work starts on Asteroid 3.
8/352 HSRP4 completed.
8/353 HSRP5 commencing (ESS Calliope)

Effect of impact - annihilation of base and most of the continent it was on, in addition to major tectonic shifts, earthquakes and major magna outflows.
The orbital fortress located above the target impact point, whilst not hit by the incoming asteroids, were effectively destroyed by the hard radiation release arising from the impact.
The remaining 3 orbital fortresses and 2 space docks were not affected at all.
