Governor Snownose Reopens B-Station The whistle stop visit by Governor Marco Snownose - hopeful in the upcoming Presidentials - was marked with much popular acclaim when he ordered the reopening of B-Station to trade once more. "Trade is at the heart of the GFA's economy..." he quipped "...and a planet without trade is like a pancake without maple syrup"
A large number of merchant vessels have been in holding orbits for over a week now, and the loss to the economy is calculated in the tens of millions of credits. Snownose is regarded by many as the front runner in the forthcoming primaries - few people have much faith in the rank outsider, Alphie Potato, after the latter's embarrassing performance as Governor of Quadrant 5, and his implication in the Great Over AI Scandal. Meanwhile, trade is getting underway, and the spaceport has once again become the scene of frenetic activity as the cargo handlers and transport staff struggle to catch up with a massive backlog of goods to be shipped off world to the Station. Unconfirmed reports from B-Station sources indicate that there are still more ships inbound who had been coasting in-system rather than docking at the Station are risk being impounded or delayed.

Insurrection on Southside The situation in the south side district of Big Dog City has now reached crisis proportions. Local police chief Ferillo has admitted that the BDCPD is incapable of containing the rampaging mobs of looters and arsonists. "This is clearly a the work of Venerian spies and agents - stirring up the normally law abiding folk of Southside".
The Mayor of Big Dog City has asked the Planetary Governor to declare a State of Emergency in the City and for reinforcements from the 27th GF Division. GF units have been moving into the city in a steady stream over the last 12 hours, and reports of shooting have significantly reduced - though several block of Southside remain on fire and 'no-go' areas for the police. General Atreides, in command of the latest phase of the security operation told reporters "People should just get off the streets now and allow the clean up crews to put out the fires and get the city back to work. Or else."
