Mak 'The Knife' Cpok

Mak's origins on New Venus are somewhat shady to say the least. He is evasive when probed on his past, but what has leaked out is that his early career was in a fairly senior position in Venerian industry. Other snippets of information indicate a scientific background, and some sort of scandal - possibly around medical ethics (or according to some sources a series of unproven murders).

His reputation is mainly for an obsessive interest in drugs - matched only by his propensity for sudden random violence. Even his close friends have been know to say affectionately of him that he is a 'swatting nutter'.

He seems to have drifted into piracy when he sought passage out of Quadrant Zero in a hurry, following some sort of 'difficulty' on New Venus. Unlike all Venerian citizens his does not have a standard identity chip - having had it surgically removed at the earliest opportunity. Despite not being qualified combat crew or an astronaut, his medical knowledge, and scary character made sure that he fitted in perfectly with the lowlifes that are typically found in pirate crews.

He joined the SS Evil Dead under Captain Gargunza in early 3200, in the belief that a captain with the particularly high piratical reputation and dread of Gargunza would be highly profitable. It became clear that Gargunza was a two-faced bastard, when he dumped Cpok and a number of his mates - attempting to get them framed to distract the COPs. Cpok does not take this lightly and harbours a deep, smoldering grudge.

After many adventures, Cpok signed up with Capt. Weiser, and this has proved a good deal better - profits are good - and Weiser's approach is one that Cpok can (and does) respect.
