EXERCISE LAST DITCH 8

Situation

A hostile power BLACK FORCE has sent an expeditionary force to take control of Gum, the quadrant capital. Main fleet elements are not within reach, and will not arrive for some time (if at all).

This hostile force has just decelerated to combat speeds and is closing on Gum Station. The defending star guard units WHITE FORCE are the only combat ready units available.

WHITE FORCE

Is to Defend Gum Station (and hence the colony) at all costs. (spare players to play)

Forces to consist of

Star Guard

• ZSS Boragg C5A
• ZSS Judge C5A
• ZSS Dexter C5A
• ZSS Satanus C3A
• ZSS Fear the Dark C3A

Gum Station:

• 8 Pacifiers
• 8 Heavy Cannon
• 8 Multi Cannon

BLACK FORCE

Is to eliminate resistance and dominate Gum Station, prior to it's surrender.

Forces to consist of Elements of 2nd Fleet that are presently available at Gum (volunteers from those present)

This is one of a series of routine system defence exercises.

All damage is simulated by the ship's computers, and the exercise co-ordination team computer VERNOIS-9000

Assessment will be based on force balance ratios. Advanced computer modelling suggests the following outcome:
