The Cult of the Mighty Ones

The cult has taken over, initially by infiltration, an isolated megadon farming station ('High Station') on Augustus Island, Centissimo
This part of the planet is sufficiently remote that nobody bothers much about what goes on.

This branch of the cult is led by the charismatic leader 'Lron Cupboard'

He is totally off his trolley, and has an inner circle of glassy-eyed fanatical psychotic homicidal maniacs. However, many of the more mildly deranged or merely gullible have been drawn into his cult, swelling the numbers. Almost all of these individuals are brainwashed to a degree of suicidal fanaticism.
There is some similarity between the destructive 'Mighty Ones' and the Exterminators - sufficient to get this group labeled 'Berserker Cultist' by most normal people.

They regularly sacrifice offworlders to the 'Mighty Ones' in complex and bloodthirsty rites at their hidden base in the jungle not too far from High Station. This base is screened from routine examination by jungle netting - though a careful search would probably find it eventually.

They are building a Transdimensional Transmitter that they believe will call down the mighty ones, who will then cleanse the faithful so that they can join with them and become immortal.

This transmitter contains a fairly ordinary tight beam microwave transmitter with a load of other lights and unnecessary bits - nothing special really, but most of the cultists don't realise this.

In the 'High Station Incident', the Cultists capture some visiting members of the 130th Marine Regiment who are on leave, not realising that this would bring down a whole load of woe on their heads.

In the police clean up operation that followed the incident, almost all of the surviving cultists were captured, but there was no sign of Cupboard. It is believed he escaped into the jungle, and police report than they imagine he will probably have been killed by now by the particularly vicious raptors that live there.

The investigation continues into the Cult - it seems it is not an isolated group, there were indication of links to other groups on Centissimo - and probably elsewhere as well.
